When you stay somewhere in our area, on top of the price of your stay you pay holiday tax to your accommodation provider that goes to the Greater Chambéry metropolitan area Community and Savoie Departement. Tax is based on accommodation type and guest numbers. This tax is entirely devoted to promoting tourism in the Chambéry Montagnes area.
These rates are per person per night. They include the additional Département tax.

The rate/person/night is 5% of the cost/person/night capped at 4,40 €.
The cost of a night’s stay is the price of the accommodation exc. VAT.
Article L. 2333-31 of the Regional Community Act (CGCT) exempts the following from tax:
These holiday tax rates apply to Aillon-le-Jeune, Aillon-le-Vieux, Arith, Barberaz, Barby, Bassens, Bellecombe-en-Bauges, Challes-les-Eaux, Chambéry, Cognin, Curienne, Doucy-en-Bauges, École, Jacob-Bellecombette, Jarsy, La Compôte, La Motte-en-Bauges, La Motte-Servolex, La Ravoire, La Thuile, Le Châtelard, Le Noyer, Les Désert, Lescheraines, Montagnole, Puygros, Saint-Alban-Leysse, Saint-Baldoph, Saint-Cassin, Saint-François-de-Sales, Saint-Jean-d’Arvey, Saint-Jeoire-Prieuré, Saint-Sulpice, Sainte-Reine, Sonnaz, Thoiry, Vérel-Pragondran and Vimines.
